Bonjour Today we went to a castle called chateau de Pierrefonds. The castle is very big and amazing it was once raided and it got ruined, then a man called Napoleon III fixed it up so people could visit it. They used catapults to wreck the walls and destroy the castle. It has got very big turrets and walls to keep out enemies.
In 1616 it was raided by louis XIII and after it was raided nobody paid any attention to the castle until 1810. There are loads of gargoyles and statues that are outside the castle. In one room there are loads of stone statues lying down with dead people in them. There are loads of armour and weapons that they used in the war.
